Abandoned!

Can you believe the parents went off and left us yesterday - they said it would be too crowded and warm to take us with them - bah humbug we say - we were just ABANDONED so they could go have fun !!!!!. Anyway - they went to St Augustine and here are some pics they took - WITHOUT US! First stop was the Castle De San Marcos which was built in 1672. The folks said they were all a bit disappointed by it - there is very little information displayed about the Castle and the tour and video they had wasn't at all informative. It is in a pretty location though. Next stop was the St Augustine Lighthouse built in 1874 it is one of the tallest in the USA which the folks say they can attest too as they climbed all 280 steps to the top - can you believe that - are they crazy!!!!! The lighthouse had an excellent tour and it as part of the Smithsonian Institute as they are also doing marine archeology and cataloguing the almost 300 ship wrecks along the Florida coast.

    What a fun day we had in St. Augustine. Thanks for taking us there. Sorry doggies...but I bet you enjoyed a nice undisturbed nap while we were gone.

    Our Mommy climbed a lighthouse in NJ once, I think it was 228 steps. She wants to climb it again. Is she fur real? (It must be a Sheltie mom thing -- go climb a lighthouse!) We loved your picture of the lighthouse with the sun behind it.

    oh a lighthouse... how beautiful!!! I hope they brought home such a canon for you... that would be a nice reward for staying alone a t ahome while they had fun....

    Fascinating seeing all the old places. We love tours you can take on our own. Why all the lovely sailboats out on the water looks relaxing. 280 steps well that made for buns of steel workout!

    It is beautiful, but we think a sheltie or two would have made the landscape PAWFECT! Hope you were suitably 'rewarded' for being abandoned.

    Mom says that's huge to climb 280 steps to the top! You guys could have done that - no problem. Bummer that you got left behind!

    WHATS????!!! OMD, I sure hopes you guys gots like 87 cookies when they gots back!!!! Butts, WOWSA! That is one pawsome outing they had! BEAUTIFULS!!!! I thinks Ma needs to go theres so she can burn off her arse climbin' those stairs.....hehehe
