Ho hum - BORING !!!!! It is RAINING - non stop and they say we are going to have 3 days of it. The weather radio has already been issuing flood warnings. As far as we know we are not in a flood area but you can never tell what will happen. The only ones who seem to be enjoying all this wet are our tree frogs who have been "quacking" up a storm. And guess what - now you can hear them (hopefully this link works - we have never added an mp3 to our blog before!) Just click on this link (it will take you to our Google storage page) and then click on "download" and tell it to open with Windows Media player or what ever media player you have like I-tunes or such.

Mom loves these little guys and was smiling like crazy this morning when she got up - as there was two of them clinging on to the windows with their cute tiny sucker feet. They seem quite partial to Mom's Gardenia bushes - one if which is flowering already and smells divine (at least to her). Mom thinks they like them because they blend in so well with the leaves. Really MOM - you so need to get a life - who the dog give a woof about frogs! And the darn things can really make some noise when they get going! Personally I think they sound like one of those duck calling whistle things. Hmm I wonder how they would feel about a train ride on the Dogville Express or better still - I wonder what would happen if we tied them to the tracks and turn up the trains to their fastest setting - "oh save me - save me - they would be quacking" !!!!!
We have never met any frogs - do you think they would like to play with a bunch of collies? :)
ReplyDeleteOh we would love to have a gardenia bush here in iowa but it would probably freeze cos it is snowing here! Weird weather.
ReplyDeleteThey sure do blind in well on those leaves. Reilly you could make a movie . And old time cowboy movie. You could be the hero (or villain you choose). Time a frog to the tracks and call "ACTION". will the frog be saved or doomed to a squishy fate. Catch Reilly in this action packed thriller "Hoppy is Hoping for a Hero".
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose

ReplyDeletewow you can;t even tell he is there. MOmma doesn't do so well with outdoor critters. Shreaks can be heard for miles. Bad news :)
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of them too! They are always stuck to the back door.
ReplyDeleteHummmmm, we hear they are good for the environment, what ever that is. Quess what guys, that rain started just about 30 miles east of us, we got nada, just freezing temps!
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
They look like our frogs. We love to harass them!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
SHE won't let us.
Those tree froggies sure do make a lot of noise!
ReplyDeleteOne of our mom's very favorite flowers is the gardenia. Every time she goes to a garden center, she has to seek out the gardenia plants and breathe deeply. It always brings a smile to her face. They won't live through our winter or we'd have dozens of them in our yard!
Love ya lots
Mitch and Molly
My momz like those little green guys too...she thinks they're cute...who can tell with hoomins
ReplyDeleteGizmo's mom here...your file played perfectly and i wish i had the camera close by...Giz normally ignores any media on computer or tv but when your frogs were playing Giz cocked his head and stared at the screen...never saw him do that before...Have a great weekend!

Somehow we bet your Mom is going to figure out a way to add those froggies to the train set.
ReplyDeleteWe have had lots of rain since the snow stopped, and more tomorrow. Our lawn is about a foot high now.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
It always amazes us how much noise a little frog can make...seems like the smaller the louder!!
ReplyDeleteWyatt and Stanzie
Hmmm...we don't have tree frogs here. At least not yet but maybe one day they'll migrate. We have regular frogs, some bull frogs too. We'd worry about running them over. Yuk...
ReplyDeleteIt has been raining here all the time too and the worst part is it always comes with lighting and thundering which I loath the most. No green tree frogs but we do have many slimy ugly brown toads; my mom never likes them at all and she always makes sure they won't come near me when I use my powder room.

Boy, look at that camouflage! Incredible.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE frogs and toads. This is a great picture.
