The azalias of coarse are blooming - both in pink and white
Mom forgot what this little purple ground cover is called but it is huge this year and so pretty. The Japanese Maple looks so pretty when the sun hits it the afternoon.
And then we have Mom's favorite - her rose which is beautifully scented. Mom had search for ages for find one that actually had a strong perfume. Did you know that that roses actually have 3 distinct scent categories. Floral, Fruity and Musk. For some reason Mom loves "stinky" plants - so of coarse she also has her gardenias in flower at the moment too. Mom was telling me about a carrion cactus she grew back home in Australia. It has the most beautiful leopard patterned star shaped flower - about 2" in size - but smells like dead carrion (rotting meat). Now that is my kind of plant - much better then those stinky things Mom likes!

The little purple flower is called carpet phlox. Ours is blooming too, but we're still waiting on the roses.

Wow Reilly, you have a really pretty garden! We are just starting here, though the crabapple trees are in full bloom. I wish I could keep it May all year long.

O M D. We have that cactus thingy growing in a pot on the side of our house and mum never knew what it was. It has only flowered once and the flower looked amazing! YOur garden is beautiful and mum just had to point out how nice, well mannered doggies sit amongst the flowers without destroying them (hint hint to us, hehehe). We love roses too. Roses and gardenias - you must have a very fragrant yard - your flowers are all beautiful. Spring is such a pretty time of the year.

Mommy says pretty flowers. Mommy was talking to Grandma the other day about buying the purple flower. Mommy thinks its a creeping phlox. Anyway mommy was gonna keep an eye out for it in the store. Maybe it will be cheaper when not in bloom?
