No pretty sunrise this morning |
So there we were strolling down the beach - Mom was being totally CRAZY - she was paddling along in the water getting her feet wet - WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT WOMAN! We of coarse were keeping well clear of it. Then our of nowhere this wave started CHASING me - can you believe that YES CHASING me up the beach!? I decided then and there I had had enough of the beach and off I went. Mom was calling to me telling me to stop, sit, wait but I
was ignoring her couldn't hear her over the waves and wind. I took myself all the way back down the beach, across the boardwalk and was waiting right by MY car when Mom finally caught up. Let me tell you she was sooo not happy with me and told me I have lost my invisible lead (going leash free) privileges now - what the dog? She ranted and raved all the way home too - and even called MY Dad to tell him what I had done. Mom couldn't believe that for the first time in 8 years I actually did something 'naughty' - of coarse I don't see it that way I was just escaping from those shark infested waves - but you know Mom's they panic at the slightest thing.
Sorry our photos have that fuzzy look to them - it is soooo humid today and the camera lens kept fogging up.

Reilly, never run away from Mom. Yikes, probably the worst thing you can do. Ihope life get better fast, but you could have given your mom a heart attack…she loves you so much…….BUT….great workout getting back to your car!!!
ReplyDeleteNaughty...running away from that vicious wave???? That's not naughty, that's just self preservation!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I finks you were very good to wait by the car and not run off
Loves and licky kisses

Mom must have been going nutty! Or she is related to this one. This one splashes us too
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Reilly! Whatever came over you! You probably scared your Mom a whole lot little buddy! What were you thinking! You know you should never leave your Mom unprotected (and face it the Dweeb isn't going to protect her from a fly!). You have to remain strong in all circumstances and stick with your Mom! Now go make up with her. Kisses will usually wo
ReplyDeleteWHAT?! You ran away from the mommy? That is totally not good my friend. You never run from the mommy. Please be careful my sweet barky friends. <3 Houdini
ReplyDeletethat could be THE WAVE the one who can swallow a whole ship and a dog together... I think that was a good excuse to run away... I hope the wave will get a leash that it can't chase you around the next time...
ReplyDeleteeasy rider
Mom's just don't get our fear of the water. However, I think you equally terrified her running away. I'm sure if you are good you will get your leash privileges back. Our Mom has taken to swimming with a golden since we won't go near the stuff. Can you believe she'd be unfaithful over the fact we won't go swimming???
ReplyDeleteOh dogs, she must have been mad if she called Dad. That's never good around here.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
How cute though that he waited by the car! He was on a mission!
ReplyDeleteChewy got out of the yard once and I was looking all over for him. I finally found him, sitting by the gate, waiting for him to let me in.
This was the furst time that you did something naughty??? I have already been naughty twice today!!! BOL!!! I really don't blame you,,,,,I have seen that movie Jaws and that is no joke!!!!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
ReplyDeleteWe think you're super smart to run back to your car...not so good about returning when your Parental Unit called you, though. My PU gets a bit out of whack if I don't come when I'm called:-)
Bol! You were just having some fun!
ReplyDeleteOh Reilly, I do NOT like the waters that chase me either! Why the waters cannot just mind their own business and stay on their side of the beach is beyond me. If I took off like that, I would be in so much trouble. But...I never can take off like that since I am not to be trusted on the invisible leash. :-)
ReplyDeleteOz
But Reilly, you ran straight back to the car! That doesn't count as naughty at all. Believe me….
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
You were scared a bit Reilly but I guarantee your Mom was even more terrified. Clever boy to wait at the car for her to catch up. Glad everyone was okay!
ReplyDeleteSheesh - didn't your Mom understand that the water might be carrying a dangerous shark or something like that trying to get you???? At least you did go to the car:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
Reilly, the good thing is that they get over it!! Sheesh. Those waves can be scary! The first time I went to the beach, I saw this big, giant, huge Newfoundland doggie and it scared me SO much I ran the whole length of the beach and back to the car. Everyone on the beach laughed at the big rottweiler being scared. It was NOT funny. I feel you, dude.
ReplyDelete-Otto
That wave sounded scary!
ReplyDeleteOh Reilly, it's fun to be naughty, but not so fun to run away from your lovely mom
ReplyDeleteOh no your poor mom. How scary!! Im glad he was waiting for you at the car.
ReplyDeleteWow, I would have been worried too, but I'm impressed you knew to wait by the car!
ReplyDeleteWaves.are.evil!! I totally agree and most likely would have done the same thing! I think you probably got her out of that water just before a shark got her, and should be rewarded for your behavior!!
ReplyDeleteMy Mama disagrees....and said you probably should have stopped when your Mama called you...
Concerned Smileys!
Bilbo (Dory's Brother)
At least you waited at the car! Our mom would have been crazy mad too!

Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
Obviously your mom has not paid attention to the threat of shark infested waters! Clearly you made the right decision!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
What's her problem? You were just going back to the car. Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteWow, I don't blame you! If I thought the entire great big ocean was after me, I'd run too. You went to the car after all so that should be okay. Darn, I hope she forgets all of this happened. BOL
ReplyDeleteGrr and Woof,
Sarge, Police Commish
She can be glad we don't live with you guys. We might have gone to the car too, but only after several hours of run romping around. NO off leash ever for us unless it is a fenced area.
ReplyDeleteOMD I hate when that happens! I would have run too so I don't see what the big deal is. I mean you went to the car and waited for her for goodness sake. Mom's so overact! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteYa just gotta bark dat wave.
ReplyDeleteReilly Reilly Reilly taking off on your own ~ why oh why did you do that. Well at least you stopped by your car thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend
Sweet William The Scot
oh my thank goodness you were ok!!!!! I know your Mom was upset (I would have been crazy upset!) but you WERE smart enough to wait by the car!
ReplyDeleteReilly, we are 110% with you on this one buddy. Waves are dangerous and yes, most definitely, without a doubt, very much shark infested!! We know it was wrong of you to run off without your mom BUTT we are very happy to hear that you headed straight for YOUR car and waited there for her.
ReplyDeleteWally & Sammy
Wow, you are very smart to go right to the car like that and lead the way for everyone else. I don't get why Mom was so mad.
ReplyDeleteZiggy Out!!
You surely wouldn't want that wave to get you, Reilly! We know how much you don't want to get wet!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Wow! We've never been chased by a wave before! We're glad you're OK!
ReplyDeleteYours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
