After what seemed like 87 gazillion days of rain (okay it was just 2 but it was non stop!) we finally got to go to MY park. We decided a walk with our invisible leashes was required so we headed off to MY lookout because no-one ever goes but us. Mom also discovered another meaning for the word fall - not only do leaves fall - but so do doggies (and people) when they step on slippery wet leaves or don't see all the tree roots under the piles of leaves. Here is MY lookout and me headed up to the top.
Yay - we made it to the top - yes even Dweeb who although I hate to admit is is much better at climbing stairs than I am.
The next bit was coming down - easy peasy so long as you don't get to much momentum going and if you do - well Mom's legs are always useful for breaking purposes.
Next we headed down through the woods to the lake which we must say is at the lowest level we have ever seen - guess all the rain we have had the last gazillion days hasn't helped - but look what we found - the beavers lodge - uncovered! Normally this little cove is completely under water.
And finally - a tree with some real color - it was so pretty against the blue sky and we also saw what we think is a crab apple tree - it looked like a sad little stick Christmas tree with a few baubles on it. What ever the fruit is - the squirrels sure seem to be enjoying them.
Now even though it was a bright sunny day, the wind was a blowing and it was cold - perfect for us but the Mom's chattering teeth and creaky old bones were getting so annoying that we headed back to MY car so she could warm up. This is also the only time you will see Dweeb racing out in front of Mom - she just has to say two magic words "car car" and you have never seen his fluffy butt move so fast. Mom says he see the car as his safe place after alluding all the wild creatures he hears stalking him the bushes - funny no one else hears them :) :)
That is a beautiful blue sky you have there Reilly, perfect weather for walkies in "YOUR" Park !
ReplyDeleteWe have a crab apple bonsai, it did have some little red baubles on it although there are a lot fewer now. Well, I thought they'd look cute on the sitting room floor !

You'd think Denny would get more brave as he explores..but I guess he's just glad you guys are there to protect him from the monsters in the woods. Poor little guy, it probably takes a lot for him to make himself get out of the car!

What a pretty day despite the cold wind. We have had lots of nice days too but we hear there is a cold blast coming in next week. We won't mind that but Mom won't like it one bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on clomicalm - that's one of the meds Mom has talked to the vet about before - may now be time to give it a try.

Our mom fell on acorns. Bailie and I pulled to get a squirrel and she slipped on the acorns and landed on her behind. No serious injuries.
ReplyDeleteLook at all of those fun steps to climb! The red tree is just beautiful!
