What gives?

Every year around this time we start seeing Scottie Christmas EVERYTHING (cards, statues, cookies, ornaments and so on - you would be AMAZED to see what Amazon has if you search Scottie Christmas) and we wondered WHEN and WHY the Scottie became the "Christmas dogs?"  We are thinking it is because Scotties are also associated with Tartan and Tartan has a Christmas feel to it.

This year we have also noticed white Scotties or Westies and also this little brown terrier type and yes - even pugs (that is them in the red sweaters but Mom didn't get a good pic of them  front on. We searched all over the intermutts but didn't find any real answer. If you like these guys (and who doesn't) they are available at Hobby Lobby Stores and they are $14.99 - less if you use their 40% off coupon which you can online or you get it on your phone.

  2. Well, believe it or not but Scottish Terriers can be black or white! Who knew?!? And those white ones look like Scotties...Westies would have a shorter muzzle, like me (they are the white version of a Cairn Terrier). I would have to agree with you that maybe they come out a lot as decorations around the holidays because of the tartan. Otherwise, there is just no explanation!

  3. That's an interesting question and I would like to hear if someone has an answer. We could ask Kyla, maybe she knows it? But I think so, it's probably the tartan-christmas-connection :o)

  25. OMP! You are so right - scotties everywhere! My mom and dad went on a field trip to Warm Springs, GA this past weekend. Mom even mentioned about how many scotties she saw everywhere in the shops - pictures, cups, plates, EVERYTHING. It was so weird. Trust me - I know because I saw the pictures on her phone - snorts. XOXO - Bacon
