This month we are joining Bacon and Fozzie's Shopping Around the World and doing a comparison of FIVE items from two different stores. For our comparison we are using the Commissary and Publix. Now is all fairness we must point out we do not pay tax at the Commissary - it is one of the perks Dad gets for his years in the Military. Here are our items
Items Commissary Publix
Edy's Frozen Custard $3.99 $6.49
EB Cage Free Eggs $2.99 $4.99
Oscar Mayer Bacon $3.99 $6.99

That's quite a difference ...though I am partial to Publix because that's where my grandma used to shop and brings back fond memories. Hope you are feeling better.

Wow,the commissary has great prices, especially for the milkbones! Wish we had one near us. I guess that's something to think about when we're ready to retire...be near a VA and a commissary.
ReplyDeleteDenny is looking hopeful that maybe the bacon might be shared.
ReplyDeleteWOW that is quite a difference in price. Mom says she knows where she would want to be shopping!
ReplyDeleteMy mom won't go to Publix when we are in FL because it is so expensive. All the groceries are more than here at home, but Publix prices are nuts.
ReplyDeleteOMD....we wish we could go to a commissary!!!

Mom grew up shopping in a commissary and was in the Air Force. I can see their prices are still much lower than regular stores. I wonder how they compare to Wal-Mart? Love Dolly
