Wild and Windy
From yesterdays beautiful sunny clear blue skies to grey overcast and VERY windy today. We dragged the Mom out for a walkies but when we got to the beach it was even to windy for us (check the video below) and Mom said "okay lets go to Spanish Ponds - we haven't been there for a while" so off we went. I was very pleased to see MY staff had been hard and work and had put in a new board walk in for ME (the old one had boards that had warped and I often tripped on them) but when we got to the end of the board walk - Mom saw this sign "alligator reported here recently" and instantly turned around - she said "NO WAY were we going to go for a walk down that overgrown path today if there was a gator hiding in the bushes!" Alas..... it turned out to be a very short walkies day today. Personally we think Mom just wanted to get out of the "freezing" cold 53 degrees - she says after living here for the last 9 months and wearing t-shirts every day having to wear a sweater and coat just feels so heavy and constricting :) :) :) We know many of you are laughing at Mom as much as we are - cold indeed!

I know how she feels, I don't enjoy the cold either. (11 degrees here this morning!)

That sounds awesome to us! ...except maybe for the alligator part. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
Hope you didn't get sand in your eyes! Oh, our Jessy has an alligator story. She lives in Boca and likes to go fishing on the Everglades. She knows how to be careful about alligators. But one day a man was fishing there that she had never seen before. She noticed he was using the wrong lure and told him it would get stuck on the underwater weeds. Before she could say anything else, the man's lure got caught on the bottom, just like she said it would. He wasn't listening to her. He got right in the water to try and get his lure and suddenly a big alligator jumped out of the water! Good thing the man didn't get snapped! He ran away as fast as he could and left all his fishing gear! Jessy decided that was enough fishing for that day!
ReplyDeleteOMD, that is some fierce wind!!!! I thinks it's gonna be that windy tomorrows here...I better wear my fur-spray! BOL!!! I loves that YOUR staff upgraded your boardwalk...it looks FABulous!! Though, I'm sure you could do without those gators hangin' around
ReplyDeleteOkays, Ma did laugh at the 'freezing' 53 degrees! And she's from CA!!! BOL!!! Butts, you do have to consider the wind-chill factor...it probably felt lots colder!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Well it may not be cold by our standards, but it does look very windy indeed.
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate it when sand blows in your eyes?
Toodle pip!

OMD...that is pretty windy!! Mama says no to us on the beach when it's windy too, she worries about me getting sand in my eyes!!

Hey, SHE knows exactly what your mum means about the cold. We're glad there was a warning about the gator!
ReplyDeleteTell your mom to stay where she is...it was 6 degrees here this morning! Even Chewy came running back inside, and he only does that when its raining.
ReplyDeleteGlad you avoided the alligator. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day for a walk!
BOL, my momma whines when it gets below 70. And she lived in Bawston for 3 years - she knows what "real cold" is, but she doesn't like any cold at all.
ReplyDeleteIt's never a good idea to risk running into a gator! I am the same way with the cold. It was 32° last night and I hurried the boys outside to take care of their business.
ReplyDeleteI was afraid you were gonna blow away!
ReplyDeleteDakotasDen
It looks like you are going to blow away. Stay clear from those gaters!
ReplyDeleteTHAT is a GALE in your Furs...not just some Wind...
ReplyDeleteOMD OMD We are GLAD that your mom gotted you away from where that GATOR had been seen... we do NOT want you to be a GATOR SNACK.
I can't stand wind it messes up my fur. Stay clear of the gators.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
It's great to see Reilly out walking again. I'm afraid that your mom would literally freeze up here. Our daytime high temperature today was 39 degrees with a mix of wet snow and rain.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is some nasty vicious wind. It was really whipping your furs around! We think we agree with your Mom, no walks near alligators for us either:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
that was some wind! No fun when it is that windy
ReplyDeleteWe think your mom was smart. You wouldn't want to be an alligator's snack! Our temps never got out of the 20's yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥

Mom is always terrified of walking in Florida between the creepy lizards, weird snakes, and gators, she never feels comfortable.
ReplyDeletebbrrr that is cold. And yep - I think I would have passed on Mr. Gator too. XOXO - Bacon
ReplyDeleteWere you guys getting sandblasted out there on the beach? It sure was windy! It's very cold up here today (and yesterday) but we're used to it. Katie likes it outside but it's too cold to leave her out there in her pen. She wants to be out though so she is making life miserable for us. Glad you got away from the gator place!
ReplyDeleteWe know all about windy days here too! Glad you kept all four paws on the ground. Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteThats was quite a bit of wind fur sure!!!!! And as fur the gator....I would have scared him off with my Mantastic bark! BOL!!!

Dear Reilly and Denny,
ReplyDeleteIt is very nice to meet you! An ALLIGATOR! What is that? Is it like a Cougar? We do not get to go for Walks when there is a Cougar around. This is very disappointing. I am very sorry for your short Walk.
I must say that you look very majestic with your fur blowing in the wind, however.
I do not like wind. It blows up my bum and does not feel nice. But I see that you put your faces into the wind, so perhaps I will try this next time instead. Maybe I will look as majestic as you?
And what an amazing Beach you have! I would like to come run on your Beach!!!
Licks,
Cobi
