Learning to share

Mom says I wasn't being a very gracious host yesterday because I was 'dogging' the vent. Mom showed Franklin that we have lots of vents to choose from and lots of cool tile floor but he wanted to stay close to me. He also wanted lots of fussing from MY dad and I wasn't to sure I liked that. I don't mind him having a quick pat but he jumped up on my dad's knee for a full on cuddle !!!!! I didn't mind at all when he had a cuddle with my mom - but having cuddles with MY dad - I am not to sure about that. Mom says that it is good for me to learn to share but isn't there some things that are just not meant to be shared - like dad's????? I shared my bones, my treats, my water dish, by yard, my mom, my toys - but my dogness - sharing my dad just didn't seem right. I wasn't mean or anything, I didn't growl or try to push Franklin away but I certainly let dad know I wasn't very happy with him - he's MY dad and he should only cuddle me.

  1. Awww Reilly, Franklin is just worried about his mom Bonnie, and so he needs a lot of extra special cuddling, and who to give him that better than your extra special Dad? Don't be jealous, Franklin is probably just really really scared because everything is different and he can't find his mom. You're being a really good boy for sharing all your stuffs. But Daddy still loves you best, don't worry. And your Mom loves you the very bestest of all too!

  2. It's really nice of you to share your dad, Reilly! Franklin is going through a tough time right now and you are being a great friend!

  3. Aw Reilly, we can tell you Dad's can cuddle two dogs - in fact our Dad has even learned how to dry two dogs at one time!
Poor Franklin will be missing Bonnie - you be nice!
We think your Dad will give extra cuddles anyway cos he loves you lots!
    love and kisses

  4. Hang in there Reilly. We keep waiting for our mom to sprout another arm so she can pet all three of us at the same time.

    Lots of treats,
    Tinkerbell, Oscar and Tucker

  5. It is nice of you to share your human since Franklin is all worried about his mom. I bet if you pretend to share real good you could get some extra treats & snuggles.

  6. Franklin needs that extra bit of loving at this time in his life, Reilly. Imagine how much he's missing his mom!
Bless you for being his friend!

    Love ya lots,
    Maggie and Mitch

  7. Well, we've never seen Franklin with such a big grin on his face before :) He's certainly enjoying himself and the cuddles with YOUR dad :) Don't worry Reilly - it's only for three weeks and you've been a very gracious host thus far!!

  8. You're right, Joss and Jess, Franklin DOES look very happy hanging out with Reilly! Good job Reilly!

  9. Reilly, your right some things shouldn't be shared. Take for example fence patrol. I don't like other dogs interfering with fence patrol. You can eat my treats, drink my water, but don't mess with the fence.

    The Secretary of Da-Fence,

Thank you for woofing at us - we read each and every one of them
