Update and swollen nose

Mom was worried that my nose was still swollen this morning so she called my dogtor and he told her to bring me down in a hour to see him. By time we got there it was even more swollen - he thinks I am am having an allergic reaction to the nerve block medication he used when he removed my teeth. He says he has only seen this one other time in 20 years of being a vet.  He couldn't see any signs of infection and the swelling is exactly where the shots were. We are trying Benadryl to see if that helps - if not I will have to have a steroid shot in the morning. Mom and Dad are so worried so please send some anti-worry vibes their way. I on the other paws feel fine, I am alert, eating happily and barking at the dogs from hell next door - I just have a puffy face :)

  6. Crikey Reilly ...... that's no good mate. BUT ...... you feel ok and the Vet Man says there's no infection and everything looks fine except for the schnoz so I'm sure you will bounce back real soon. Mum' and Dad's are worry warts though, aye, so I'm sending lots of those anti-worry vibes their way. You look good mate. Your eyes are as bright as and, I dunno, but somehow a big swollen schnoz looks good on you!!

  22. Oh, NO!!! I hope the Benadryl helps with the swelling! I have to take that before I get shots because one time I got too many at once and I ended up doing a Sharpei imitation. A really SAD Sharpei. I was a mess and scared my mom to pieces! Our vet recommended Benadryl, too, and wow, did it work. Whew. Hope it does for you, too!
    Yours sincerely,
