Denny - "Okay - listen to me Reilly - Mom wants to get some photos of those two birdies so we have to sneak up on them and that mean no racing over there and barking your darn head off at them - okay" Of coarse there is no way I was going to listen to the Dweeb but I did let Mom get some pics before I chased them off MY rocks. The small bird is a white egret and the big one is a white crane - they look almost identical except for their size. Mom was super happy when the crane jumped up on the rocks and she got a great photo if him. (if you click on it to see it bigger - you can see the funny tail feather the cranes have - it makes it look like he is pooping!) The birds love the rocks when there is a high tide like this as lot of small fish like to hide amongst them - which makes them easy pickings for those pointy beaks :)
Wow! Those are great photos of the birds! You are right about the funny tail feather! You must have been very very good boys for your Mom to be able to get that close. I hope you got a treat (or two) for your restraint!
