Ships Ahoy !

Cap Andreas
It has been awhile since we showed you any of the ships we see on our daily beach patrol. Many of them are repeat visitors which is to be expected as we are on their normal shipping routes  (just as a side note - they are still prime suspects in the removal of MY sand - I mean to say - what else could be in all those containers - right?)

We have in the past week seen the Cap Andreas, Ilsa Bella, Venezia, the tug boat Judy Moran and the Perla Del Caribe. The Ilsa Bella and Venezia we have seen many times before - but did you know some 20-40 ships enter or leave Jacksonville every day !!!

We love going on Vesselfinder.com to read about the size of the ships and to see where they come from and Mom has joined up as a "ship spotter" - she uploads the photos she takes to their website. By checking the  Perla Del Caribe on Vesselfinder.com for example - we found that in recent weeks it visited the Panama Canal, San Diego, Puerto Rico and finally Jacksonville.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY..... I love that YOU love shippies as much as I do!!! I use MarineTraffic.com - and likewise it is possible to upload photos, though as yet I have not taken that step. It's a great hobby - along with sleuthering!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. That's it....that's gotta be it...those sneaky ships hiding ALL your sand in those containers...how could they?

  3. Wow, those are such grand ships! How cool that you get to see them all the time. I definitely think they are prime suspects...maybe half of them are full of your sand and the other half are transporting kibble. Wouldn't be great if a lot of those big vessels were full of yummers?!?

  14. Wow! We wish we could go see some ships like that. But the closest big body of water around here is Lake Ontario. Then there are the Finger Lakes; but not many big boats sail on them. So we love to see your photos! Keep on sending them!

  19. Well...if the sand is in those containers, I wonder where they are bringing it? Hmmm....if a new beach pops up quickly, I think that will be a big clue.
