So what now - the recommendation is to go and see a special doggie surgeon to determine if the lump can removed - we have to consider though that surgery on doggies feet can be very tricky (especially when involves the pads) as it can be very difficult for this area to heal properly. We also have to find out what are the chances of lump growing back and whether having it removed will really make it easier for me to walk as the vets tend to think the limping is more a result of the arthritis rather than the lump. We have an appointment to see the surgeon in 2 weeks and will know what we are going to do then - in the meantime I am just happy to go galumping (that is the sound my boots make when I run on the sand). Thank you everyone for all the Power of Paw - it means so much.
The vet was waiting for ME to arrive with my name on the sign! |

We are so glad to hear that it is not "C". Mabel had some sort of inflamation on her foot last month -it was on top and between her toes. A short course of prednisone took care of it

We're glad it was not cancerous. Our Miss Charisma had a lot of lumpy bumps on her feet. She even had to get one toe removed. But she did quite well after that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for explaining the results Reilly. So glad its not a cancerous lump, and it sounds like the vet people are going to do their very best to help you walk more comfortably. A calm and handsome doggie eh? Well we knew that already of course.

It stinks getting old and having arthritis. We see the sad state it causes every day with Katie. Now even her heart which is in awesome condition has that tumor. Just not fair. We hope you can find a good solution to your pawblem.
ReplyDeleteso glad your tests came out well, that is a HUGE relief! i am sure you will have answers as to how to proceed soon. That is cool that you had your name on the sign! We have too many doctors/pets at our vet for them to do that. I love it! DakotasDen
