Musing On Monday #17

If I don't look happy - it is because I am NOT !  Something awful, terrible and devastating (at least according to Mom) happened - after our Saturday & Sunday walks in the woods  - Dad found a tick crawling up his arm after he gave the Dweeb a cuddle. It totally freaked out the Mom !!!  She was all flustered and dad had to vacuum everywhere, then she checked us from head to tail with a fine tooth comb - we got brushed and brushed and there wasn't a square inch of us she didn't look at and I mean she looked EVERYWHERE - please Mom - have you no shame!   She was even more unhappy when she found a tick on ME - but the darn thing was dead already (thanks to our monthly flea and tick treatments) but did that matter - NOOOOOOO. She says NO MORE walkies in the woods - WHAT THE DOG!!!!!  Is that fair I ask you?????

  1. Oh no!! Good thing that blood sucker was already dead! I know it is completely unfair. Hopefully you can find some clearer areas to walk in.

  2. Oh no no no that IS NOT fair at all. Isn't that why we take the flea and tick meds? So we can enjoy life. Humans, they confuse me sometimes.

  4. Mom's not a big fan of the tick's either. However, Mom figures she has more to fear than we do as all the one's she's ever found on us die, not so the one's that get on her.

That being said Mom totally lost it when Katy came to us with fleas. She made us go to the vet's kennel while she had the house exterminated. Dog jail for fleas??

  5. Our mom worries about them too! During tick season we are limited to walks on the beach, instead of in the woods on our favorite trails. But at least we still get to go for walks...

    We miss the woods though!

  9. We don't blame your Mom! We are lucky we don't tend to get those down here, but we have had fleas and ticks after traveling!

  10. NO NO NO! That is totally unfair. You just need to have your tick treatments to protect you. You may have to run your mum and dad through a sheep dip, too.

  12. Yuck I got one on me when I was pregnant right on my stomach and completely freaked out...luckily my doctor was raised on a farm and was able to assure me that we'd both be fine :) - that was my one and only tick experience and I would prefer not to repeat it either :)

  14. Oh dear, all that brushing wasn't much fun at all, but you know it is only because Mom loves you so much. You are thick furred like us so it isn't easy to find those evil ticks. Thank dogness for good flea and tick preventative.

  16. Hopefully your mom will still take you out into the woods for a walk. After all you could pickup a tick anywhere. Even in your backyard. And if you're being protected anyways with flea and tick treatments, you should be fine.

  17. As long as you have your tick treatment I don't see why you shouldn't be allowed to go there... pft!
